Pre-Installation Requirements

Verify site conditions and gather necessary tools before installation.

  1. Location Selection: Choose stable, vibration-free location for outdoor unit with proper clearance.
  2. Indoor Unit Placement: Ensure adequate space for airflow and service access.
  3. Electrical Requirements: Verify voltage (208/230V) and dedicated circuit availability.
  4. Refrigerant Lines: Plan routing with minimal bends and proper insulation.
  5. Drainage: Ensure proper slope for condensate drainage.

WARNING! Only qualified HVAC technicians should perform installation. Follow all local codes and regulations.

Installation Process

Follow step-by-step installation procedure carefully.

  1. Mount indoor unit: Secure bracket to wall, hang unit ensuring level installation.
  2. Install outdoor unit: Place on stable pad or mounting brackets with proper clearance.
  3. Run refrigerant lines: Connect copper pipes with flare connections, ensure proper insulation.
  4. Electrical connections: Connect power and communication wires following wiring diagram.
  5. Drain line installation: Connect condensate hose with proper slope away from unit.
  6. Vacuum and charge: Evacuate system, charge with R410A refrigerant to specified weight.

CAUTION! Use proper lifting equipment for heavy components. Wear appropriate PPE.

Specifications

Controls and Settings

Access functions via wireless remote or indoor unit buttons.

Remote Functions: POWER, MODE (Cool/Heat/Fan/Dry/Auto), TEMP SET, FAN SPEED, TIMER, SWING, SLEEP, FILTER RESET.

Operation Modes: COOL, HEAT, FAN, DRY, AUTO. Fan Speeds: AUTO, LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH, QUIET. Timer: 24-hour programmable. Settings: Temperature setting (60°F-86°F), Louver direction, Filter indicator, Self-cleaning operation.

Electrical Connections

Follow wiring diagram precisely for proper operation.

  1. Disconnect all power before making electrical connections.
  2. Connect power cables to terminal block following color coding.
  3. Connect communication wires between indoor and outdoor units.
  4. Ensure proper grounding of all components.
  5. Install disconnect switch within sight of outdoor unit.

Tip: Use copper conductors only. Torque terminals to specified values.

Refrigerant Piping

Proper piping installation is critical for system performance.

  1. Measure and cut pipes: Use pipe cutter for clean, burr-free ends.
  2. Flare connections: Use proper flare tool and gauge for perfect 45° flare.
  3. Insulate pipes: Cover both liquid and suction lines with closed-cell insulation.
  4. Pressure test: Test with dry nitrogen at specified pressure for leak detection.
  5. Evacuate: Pull vacuum to 500 microns or less before charging.
  6. Charge refrigerant: Weigh in correct amount of R410A as specified on rating plate.

WARNING! Never use oxygen or compressed air for pressure testing. Use proper refrigerant handling procedures.

Commissioning and Testing

Verify proper operation after installation completion.

  1. Power on system: Turn on disconnect switch and indoor unit power.
  2. Test cooling operation: Set to cool mode, verify compressor operation and cooling.
  3. Test heating operation: Set to heat mode, verify reversing valve operation and heating.
  4. Check airflow: Verify proper air volume and direction from indoor unit.
  5. Monitor temperatures: Check supply and return air temperatures.
  6. Verify drainage: Ensure condensate is properly draining.
  7. Check electrical: Measure voltage and current draw.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity.

  1. Air Filter: Clean every 2 weeks, replace as needed
  2. Indoor Unit: Wipe with soft dry cloth, clean louvers
  3. Outdoor Unit: Keep coil clean, remove debris
  4. Drain System: Flush drain line annually
  5. Professional Service: Annual inspection recommended

CAUTION! Disconnect power before cleaning. Do not use water above 104°F or harsh chemicals.
