Unit Specifications

Installation Tools Required

Gather all necessary tools before beginning installation.

  1. Torque wrench set
  2. Flaring tool for copper pipes
  3. Vacuum pump with manifold gauge
  4. Pipe cutter and reamer
  5. Leak detector
  6. Multimeter
  7. Insulation tape and cable ties
  8. Level and measuring tape

IMPORTANT! Use only tools in good condition to ensure proper installation.

Indoor Unit Installation

Select appropriate location and install indoor unit securely.

  1. Choose installation location: Minimum 7 feet from floor, away from heat sources
  2. Mount installation plate: Use level to ensure horizontal placement
  3. Mark pipe holes: Follow template provided with unit
  4. Cut wall openings: Use hole saw for neat openings
  5. Mount indoor unit: Hang on installation plate securely

WARNING! Ensure wall can support unit weight; use proper anchors.

Outdoor Unit Installation

Install outdoor unit on stable, level surface with adequate clearance.

  1. Select location: Well-ventilated area, minimum 12 inches clearance all sides
  2. Prepare foundation: Concrete pad or vibration-absorbing pads
  3. Position unit: Ensure level placement
  4. Secure unit: Use appropriate fasteners for stability
  5. Weather protection: Install rain cover if required

CAUTION! Do not install where snow accumulation or direct water exposure may occur.

Refrigerant Piping Connection

Connect refrigerant pipes between indoor and outdoor units.

  1. Cut pipes to required length: Use pipe cutter for clean cuts
  2. Remove burrs: Use reamer to ensure smooth edges
  3. Flare pipe ends: 45-degree flare with proper tool
  4. Connect pipes: Apply minimal refrigerant oil to flare connections
  5. Torque connections: Tighten to manufacturer specifications
  6. Insulate pipes: Use proper insulation to prevent condensation

WARNING! Never reuse refrigerant pipes; always use new properly sealed pipes.

Electrical Wiring

Connect power supply and inter-unit wiring according to local codes.

ConnectionSpecification
Power Supply115V, 15A dedicated circuit
Wire Size14 AWG minimum
Circuit Breaker15A time-delay fuse or breaker
GroundingProper earth ground required
Inter-unit WiringFollow color coding in manual

CAUTION! All electrical work must be performed by qualified personnel.

Drainage System

Install proper drainage to prevent water damage.

  1. Connect drain hose: Secure with clamps
  2. Ensure downward slope: Minimum 1/4 inch per foot
  3. Test drainage: Pour water to verify flow
  4. Insulate drain pipe: Prevent condensation in warm areas
  5. Route to proper outlet: Away from building foundation

IMPORTANT! Never elevate drain hose above indoor unit level.

Vacuum Drying and Leak Test

Remove moisture and air from refrigerant system.

  1. Connect vacuum pump: Use manifold gauge set
  2. Evacuate system: Pull vacuum to 500 microns
  3. Hold vacuum: Check for rise indicating leaks
  4. Leak test: Use electronic leak detector on all connections
  5. Release refrigerant: Open service valves slowly

WARNING! Never release refrigerant to atmosphere; recover properly.

Initial Operation and Testing

Test system operation and verify proper function.

  1. Power on system: Turn on circuit breaker
  2. Test cooling mode: Set to lowest temperature
  3. Check airflow: Verify adequate air movement
  4. Monitor temperatures: Use thermometer for supply/return air
  5. Test all functions: Remote control, timer, modes
  6. Verify drainage: Check for proper water flow

NOTE: Allow system to run for at least 15 minutes for accurate performance assessment.
