Camera Setup

Prepare your camera for first use.

  1. Install batteries: Open battery compartment, insert 4 AA batteries observing polarity.
  2. Insert SmartMedia card: Open card slot cover, insert card with label facing out.
  3. Set date/time: Turn camera on, use menu to set current date and time.
  4. Install software: Insert CD-ROM, follow on-screen instructions to install FinePix Viewer.

Basic Shooting

How to take photos with your FinePix 1300.

  1. Turn camera on: Slide power switch to ON.
  2. Set mode: Turn mode dial to AUTO for automatic shooting.
  3. Compose shot: Use LCD monitor or optical viewfinder.
  4. Focus: Half-press shutter button until focus indicator lights.
  5. Take photo: Fully press shutter button.
  6. Review image: Image appears on LCD for few seconds after capture.
